Facts About Breast Cancer
Breast cancer accounts for about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new cancer diagnosed in the United States, making it the second most common cancer for women.1 The American Cancer Society estimates that about 310,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2024, which equates to about 13% or 1 in 8, with a median age of diagnosis is 62.
Breast cancer also occurs in men but is less common, with a lifetime risk is about 1 in 726. It is estimated that in 2024, about 2,800 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in men in the United States.
