Cancer Survivors Month is an opportunity every year to celebrate the strength and determination of our patients. Our mission is to improve the lives of those battling cancer and that means helping them look beyond their cancer diagnosis. Their words are truly inspiring. We see you. We are here for you. We are walking right alongside you through every step of your journey.
Penny Isop, Onco360 Patient
Penny has learned that she is stronger than she thought.
“I was originally given five years, and now I’m going strong at ten.
Cancer has changed my life forever.”
Shauna Barron – Onco360 Pharmacist and Patient
“Working as an oncology pharmacist was helpful,
but it definitely doesn’t prepare you for being on the other end.
But Onco360 was so wonderful.”
Alice O’Donnell, Onco360 Patient
“just listen. Listen to whatever they have to
say with no judgement. Just be understanding.”
Missions Linked Through Hope
We were introduced to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® community last year through our survivor stories and became inspired by their mission and dedication to helping cancer patients. They offer 30+ locations that serve as a free place to stay when a patient’s treatment and caregivers are far away. Stays include comfortable suites with private baths, a communal kitchen, a dining area, laundry rooms, and places to gather or find some quiet time.
Because their mission aligns perfectly with ours, we wanted to provide support and do something special. During the month of June, we are sending over 1,100 Care and comfort kits to be divided and distributed to each location. The kits contain a blanket, an activity book, and colored pencils.
We believe it’s important to take time for self-care during cancer treatments and recovery. Sometimes the best medicine can be slowing down, finding comfort – and a little hope.
