Safety Tips for Hazardous Medications
Some drugs need special handling because they can be hazardous or harmful. If your prescription is labeled “Hazardous Drug,” these drugs must be taken, stored, and handled causiously.
Are You Planning To Travel?
If you are planning to travel, please make sure you have enough medication and/or supplies to get you through your trip – plus a little extra. If you have any concerns regarding a refill or delivery while you are away, please contact us at 877.662.6633 or send us a message.
Travel Tips for Medication
- Always keep your medication in your carry-on in case your luggage is lost
- If you’re traveling across time zones, talk to our pharmacist about how to adjust your medication schedule
- Medications should be kept in their original containers with your name, doctor’s name, and the prescription information printed on the bottle to make your way through customs and/or security easily
- Keep track of temperatures. Certain medications are sensitive to extremely hot or cold temperatures, which can affect how well they work. If a medication needs to be refrigerated, keep them in an insulated lunch bag with a freezer pack inside your carry-on.
- Check for restrictions at your destination. Just because a medication is legal in the U.S. doesn’t mean it’s allowed in other countries. Before you go abroad, check with your destination’s U.S. Embassy.
