Written by David Saltzman, the Jester is an optimistic guy who looks for happiness wherever he goes, because smiles and laughter can be contagious, no matter the situation.
The proceeds for The Jester Has Lost His Jingle benefit a non-profit organization called the Jester & Pharley Phund. Founded in 2000, their mission is to “empower economically disadvantaged and ill children facing serious challenges by sharing the universal message of perseverance, resilience, hope, and joy.”
Supporting Our Youngest Patients by Giving Back to Our Community
At Onco360, we believe in providing more than just expert oncology pharmacy care for our youngest patients. We are committed to making a difference in our communities by supporting children’s charities that align with our mission to improve the lives of patients battling cancer.
At BASECamp Children’s Cancer Foundation in Orlando, Florida they offer a year-round support system for children and families facing the daily challenges of cancer and other life-threatening hematological illnesses. They understand that these illnesses impact entire families, not just the patients, and offer their services to siblings as well.
Terri Jones, BASECamp’s founder has dedicated her life to creating a safe and nurturing environment that feels like an extended family for so many. Her passion and care are evident in the programs and support she provides to children and their families. She said, “Children shouldn’t be defined by their illness. That’s why at BASECamp, every child gets to simply be a normal child, with other children just like them. We provide a peer group where struggles and experiences are not only understood but shared.”
Onco360’s contributed several kits to this wonderful cause designed to bring joy and comfort to these children and their siblings:
- 500 Movie Night Boxes: Each box packed with popcorn, candy, and gift cards for movies, bringing the fun of a theater experience.
- 375 Activity Kits: These kits included sudoku puzzles, crossword puzzles, markers, colored pencils, and more to keep young minds engaged
- 100 Celebration Kits: Filled with cake mix, icing, spatulas, candles, plates, napkins, and bowls for families to celebrate joyous occasions
