Finding Strength in
Self-Care

Prioritizing Your Well-Being

If you or a loved one is living with cancer, caring for your mental and physical health is more important than ever. It’s a time to focus on self-care, stress management, and building healthy habits, so we wanted to share some general reminders and practical tips to help keep your mind and body healthy throughout your treatment and beyond.

Listen to Your Body
Give yourself permission to slow down and rest without guilt. Fatigue is common during treatment and recovery, so rest when you need to.

Stay Nourished
Eat balanced meals that make you feel good. If your appetite is low, try small, frequent snacks. It’s also important to stay hydrated, especially since this is the hottest time of the year. If you’re having issues with nutrition, talk to your doctor or our team.

Keep Active
Gentle movement like walking, stretching, or yoga can help boost energy, improve mood, and reduce stress.

Care for Your Mental Health
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, and that can be normal too. Take time out of your day to meditate or try journaling, or just simply take a few deep breaths. Talking to a counselor or joining a local support group can also help lighten the load.

Build Joy into Your Days
Read, watch your favorite show, spend time outdoors, or connect with loved ones. Small amounts of happiness can have a great impact on your well-being.

Stay Involved with Your Care
Keep up with your scheduled appointments and be honest with your doctors about how you’re feeling, both physically and emotionally.

Be Kind to Yourself
Your body and mind are working hard. Celebrate the small victories along with the big ones and remind yourself it’s okay to have a tough day.

Wellness is a journey, and small things can add up. Just remember that you are not alone. We’re here to support you.
